The problem:
LARGE CANVAS PRINTS
Michaela Davidson is a successful professional artist and businesswoman and artist-in-residence at her gallery in Lake Cowichan, BC. Michaela’s watercolours and acrylic paintings are wonderfully colourful, atmospheric depictions of the prairie and west coast worlds. I have been making canvas prints of Michaela’s artwork since 2013, and what I quickly learned is that Michaela doesn’t “do small!”
In fact, Michaela recently sold a large print of “Morning Surf.” How large did the client want it? My canvas stretcher frames are made from Larson-Juhl moldings which ship in 10 foot containers. It was possible that the largest available frame piece would be too short for this print.
The solution:
To avoid the extra cost and time of custom milling the material, we compromised on a finished size of 9 feet 9 inches by 30 inches! To date, it is the longest print I have done.
Breathing Color Lyve canvas up to 44″ wide always in stock.
Large-format inkjet printing on genuine HP Vivera type 70 inks.
Hand-coated with Breathing Color Glamour II varnish.
Hand-stretched for accuracy and stability.
The client was delighted with the finished result!
